Follow this guide to set up Wi-Fi for Home Assistant on Raspberry Pi. By default, the initial installation will require an ethernet cable but once the installation is complete you can enter the Wi-Fi parameters and switch over.

Step 1) Navigate to the network settings by selecting ‘Settings’ in the left-hand menu. Then select ‘System’ in the central menu. Finally select ‘Network’ in the subsequent central menu.

Step 2) Under the ‘WLAN0’ menu (A) change either the IPv4 or IPv6 section from ‘Disabled’ to ‘DHCP’ (B).

Step 3) Under the Wi-Fi section (C) press the ‘SCAN FOR ACCESS POINTS’ and select the Wi-Fi network you wish to join.

Step 4) At the bottom of the Wi-Fi section (D) select the ‘wpa-psk’ option and enter the password for the Wi-Fi network.
